The Caribbean Tourism Exchange gave special thanks to key figures in tourism in the Dominican Republic for their valuable contributions to the development of this important form of economic activity in the country. The acknowledgement ceremony took place in the Churchill Room of the Dominican Fiesta in Santo Domingo in the presence of important representatives from the national and international tourism sector.

Luis Felipe Aquino, president of the Caribbean Tourism Exchange, presided over the ceremony in which lawyer Radhamés Martínez Aponte, Juan Lladó, tourism consultant and columnist for a number of the country’s important newspapers and media sources, Juan Manuel Martín de Oliva, vice-president of Banco Popular, and Ernesto Veloz, executive director of the Association of Hotels in the East, were recognized.

The president of the Caribbean Tourism Exchange said that his institution was proud this year to recognize Radhamés Martínez Aponte, Juan Lladó, Juan Manuel Martín de Oliva and Ernesto Veloz, and that “each of them has made major contributions to the national tourism sector and were owed a large debt of gratitude by the country for their boost to Dominican tourism.”
