International tourism is booming. We are traveling and traveling a lot. In 2014, the number of international tourists grew 4.7% to 1.1 billion people. Spain, as we know, is one of the destinations that profits from our urge to see the world. But overall, which are the most visited cities on the planet?

Every year, the company Euromonitor International makes a league table of the world's most visited cities. We now know the compiled and analyzed data for 2013. And the winner is... Hong Kong, with 25,587,300 arrivals, up 7.6 percent on 2012.

The Euromonitor shows a significant global trend: more than a third of all destinations are in the Asia-Pacific region, and, of the top 10, six are Asian cities, including the top three: Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.

Of the main Caribbean destinations, Punta Cana, in 66th place in the world rankings, is the most visited, and receives more tourists every year. Its heavenly beaches, people, and tropical climate make it a must for any self-respecting traveler.
