Over the next eight years, Bahia will receive an investment of approximately 5.700 million Brazilian reals, of which almost 3.900 will be put into the northern coast. During July, a memorandum of understanding was signed for the construction of a megacomplex in Jandaíra, which will include a tourist resort with a completion date set for 2015. The Secretary of State of Tourism estimates an annual income for the Costa Azul Bahia Golf complex of 44 million Brazilian reals. The Iberostar Group, through Iberostate, its real estate division, will invest in its expansion, this time with two, three and four bedroom homes especially conceived for select clients. It is foreseen that, by 2020, 14 new hotels, a residential complex, more hotel room availability and a leisure center will be built in the region known as the Costa dos Coqueiros.  According to Setur, Spaniards are the top investors in the region.
