You'll find, barely 45 minutes away by car from Iberostate Bávaro, the breathtaking beaches of Isla Saona and Bayahibe, bathed by the Caribbean sea.

Bayahibe beach has preserved its charm of a fine white sand beach -that's not too large- surrounded by large palm trees, with street vendors that travel the coast selling semi-precious stone necklaces and bracelets at reasonable prices. Complete your day at the beach eating and drinking a refreshing tropical cocktail in any one of the beach bars, while listening to merengue or bachata music in the background. It's a great place for scuba diving and snorkeling, making it perfect for all ages.

Isla Saona is the largest island of the country and forms part of the National Park of the East. It's a huge tourist attraction due to its breathtaking beaches and natural beauty. It's a must-visit of the country, no doubt one of its most spectacular landscapes as well as the treasured snapshot that every visitor must take. There are miles and miles of virgin beaches surrounded by thousands of coconut palms. The flora and fauna here abound, including birds and water animals (hawksbill sea turtle, manatee, green parakeet, hutia, etc.). Isla Saona is officially protected and therefore no building is allowed on the coast. Enjoy a fantastic dip in the pristine clear waters of its beaches, enjoy local cuisine in any of its palm-thatched roof restaurants, take a quite nap on one of its hammocks or visit the huge swamps that separate Isla Saona from dry land. This is the place to toast the true Caribbean.
