After the real estate recession, 2011 presented itself in the Mayan Riviera as a year of transition towards recovering the sector with different projects, which, during the first half of the year, began development or were reactivated.

Another piece of good news is the fact that important investments of national and foreign capital for our country, and most especially for the Mexican Caribbean, have been announced.

At the beginning of the year, one of the best news breaks was released for the real estate sector of the Mayan Riviera: it was announced that “Iberostate”, the new real estate division of the Iberostar Group, would begin the development of its project on Playa Paraíso, an exclusive residential complex with 15 villas and 240 exclusive condos, located on the golf course designed by P.B. Dye.

With an investment of more than 100 million dollars, and with the backing of the Iberostar Group, Spanish company with more than 50 years’ experience and 123 hotels in 19 countries around the world, Iberostate shows its confidence in the Mexican market and acknowledges that the Mayan Riviera real estate sector is a secure investment.

The Mayan Riviera is a strong tourist destination with 37,607 hotel rooms, and 2.8 million tourists annually.
