On Sunday 22 September the  Mata de São João Municipality, in association with the Iberostar Group and  Iberostate, launched and opened the gates of the Klaus Peters Municipal Park to the community and visitors of Mata de São João, a district of great natural beauty,  including the magnificent beaches of Praia do Forte.

To celebrate this special occasion,  Iberostate sponsored the First Spring Walk around 2.5 kilometers of the Municipal Park linking the town of Praia do Forte to the Iberostar complex, to underline our commitment to wellbeing, quality of life and participation in physical exercise.  

The Mayor, Marcelo Oliveira, the Secretaries of the Municipality of Mata de São João, Iberostar's Group Director General, David Malagelada, Sales and Marketing Manager for Brazil, Joan Gutierrez, all took part, along with leading figures from the community, residents and condominium owners of Iberostate Praia do Forte and journalists from the fields of the environment, fashion and architecture representing all the leading media outlets in Bahia. 

Furthermore, following an excellent partnership agreement entered into between Iberostate and the Bodytech premium fitness academy, two physical education specialists from the chain accompanied the walkers and provided health tips and exercise suggestions. The morning ended with a healthy balanced brunch at the Iberostate Praia do Forte Sales Stand, so that our exclusive guests could restore their energy and enjoy the delights of the Iberostar Group's cuisine. 

The Klaus Peters Municipal Park is open to the public every day from 9am to 6pm.   With a focus on environmental conservation, the Park's structure is designed in such a way that it does not disrupt the local ecosystem. There will therefore be no artificial lighting, to protect the area where the turtles lay their eggs and cars and electrical buggies will be banned. Access is for pedestrians and cyclists only.
