In order to trumpet the sea turtle preservation work in Brazil, the Tamar Project has brought together artists, researchers, and supporters of the cause to record a video clip. The fruits of this exciting mosaic of voices will be showcased in a special show dubbed “Juntos pelos Bichos do Mar!” ("Together for Sea Creatures!"), on October 9 at 8pm in the Praia do Forte Visitor Center. There will be participation from more than 20 musicians, with the promise of spellbinding performances from famous names such as Lenine, Saulo, Xangai, Gerônimo, Ricardo Chaves, Luciano Calazans, Chico Martins (who co-wrote the Bichos do Mar music with Guy Marcovaldi), Sergival, Ana Mametto, Yacoce Simões, Marcela Martinez, Marcos Clement, Daya Words, and the band Casco Cabeça.

With images and audio from beaches in eight Brazilian states, drumming from the Chilean maestro Nacho Mena, and participation from biologists, oceanographers, veterinarians, coastal community members, and others who work to protect turtles, as well as numerous artists, the clip conveys the essence of the Tamar movement, which represents the power of music to protect sea turtles and nature in general. The event begins at 5pm on October 9 with the release of sea creatures on the beach next to Tamar. Musical performances will start at 8pm.
