In the scope of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, held worldwide during the month of October, the Iberostar Bávaro complex completed a 5 kilometer race in its facilities on October 19 (World Day of the Fight Against Breast Cancer). This initiative proved very popular, with large numbers of the guests of the four hotels, and of the management teams and staff of the whole complex, participating. In addition, the staff and owners of the Iberostate property section and the staff of the Golf Course were also well-represented.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a World Health Organization (WHO) initiative which forms part of the integral programs of the fight against breast cancer. The recommended strategies are early detection through knowledge of the initial signs and symptoms, and the demonstration of how to perform self-examination of the breasts. Early detection improves the prognosis and survival rate of patients and continues to be the cornerstone of the fight against this aggressive illness, whose victims are mostly women.
Iberostate Bávaro joined the initiative by collaborating in the organization of this race and taking part along with the other participants.
