According to a report carried in Jornal A Tarde (a widely circulated and respected  newspaper in the State) in March this year, the Bahia Tourism Secretariat expects that the region of the Northern Coastline of Bahia will receive private foreign and domestic investment of close to R$ 3.5 billion in the form of resorts, hotel complexes, luxury condominiums and malls offering services and leisure facilities at Praia do Forte and the rest of the locations in  Mata de São João (such as Guarajuba, Imbassaí, Arembepe, Jacuípe and Massarandupió). With these investments, the region where Iberostate Praia do Forte is located has the potential to become one of the most sought-after beach destinations in the country. 

David Malagelada, General Manager of Iberostate Praia do Forte, considers that “Bahia is enjoying a moment in which it is on the way to becoming consolidated as one of the country’s leading domestic tourist destinations.”   This can be seen from the sales recorded by Iberostate, with increasing numbers of buyers from all over Brazil. Initially, such sales came 75% from Bahia and 25% from other states. Today the proportion is half and half, with a large share accounted for by São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Brasília and Rio de Janeiro”.

Iberostate Praia do Forte handed over the first stage of its project in December 2011. Already 75 apartments and 25 houses have been handed over to their owners. In June, a further 76 apartments from this development will follow suit.
